After Registration doctor will
enter their basic appointment details in the system. This
will contain things like Time Slot, Weekdays of conduct,
Patients per appointment and average time per patient. A
Unique ID is generated for each appointment entered by
doctor. |

This appointment IDs can be displayed at the dispensary /
Hospital and also on the website. |

Patients can take
appointment in 3 different ways.
(1) Stage 4A - If
patients know the appointment ID then they can take
appointment using their own mobile phone of any make with
any service providers service. A simple phone with SMS
sending and receiving feature enabled can be used.
(2) Hospital and
clinic reception having access to computer with internet
connection can take appointment on behalf of the patient
using the online Hospital Control Panel.
(3) Hospital and
clinic reception not having access to computer can use
a service mobile phone provided by Q For Doctor to book
appointments on behalf of the patients. |

Patient willing to
take appointment with the doctor will just have to send a SMS
to the system containing the relevent Appointment ID of that
doctor and the system
will place them in a virtual queue. They will also receive a reply
containing their position in the queue. In case of
Always On* appointments patients will receive the time
of appointment in the same reply. |

* In case of Flexible Appointments doctors has to perform
the last step to activate appointment. |

Once the doctor is ready to start that days
appointment a SMS is sent to each and every patient in the
queue about its position in the queue and tentative time of
the appointment with the doctor. The position and the time
is calculated based on the information provided by the
doctor while registering that particular appointment.
Note the change in timing in sms of each patients.

Q for Doctor is a
clever system which uses the now-ubiquitous mobile
to help doctors to schedule their appointments , so
that patients don't have to wait for ever. This is a
clever idea, because it addresses the biggest pain
point of patients - the fact that they have to wait
and wait ( which is why they are called patients,
according to a friend of mine !)
This is a great "proof of concept" model which shows
how technology can be used to improve healthcare
delivery. I have learnt from personal experience
that patients don't always admire efficient doctors
. Most patients in India are worried when there are
very few patients in the waiting room. They feel
that a "busy doctor" who makes them wait for hours
must be a good doctor, because he is so busy (
though I feel this just means that he does not
respect his patients and cannot manage his time well
!)
This system is "Doctor driven"
so doctors go ahead and be a part of the
revolutionary system and change the way you are
conducting your appointments forever. Give the most
desired facility to your patients at no extra cost.
Without you registering in this system your patients
can not take advantage of it. So go ahead, register

● Patients can also cancel their
appointment in case they don't wish to see the doctor on
that day and time, if such thing happen other patients are
automatically moved one step ahead in the queue
● The entire control of starting the appointment is in the
hand of the respective doctor and since the doctor knows
exactly when he/she will be able to start examining the
patients, this will enable the minimum waiting time for
patients. |

Control |

Doctors will report ABSENT PATIENTS after the appointment.
This will keep the system clean if a patient is taking
appointment and then do not turn up for the same, such
patients will be termed as absent patients. More then 2 such
acts from the patient and he/she will be BANNED from the
system and will not be able to take the appointment unless
the reason behind such act is not clarified.
● Doctors can have alternate mobile numbers registered so
that once registered their appointments can be controlled by
their colleagues.
● User can take appointment with a single mobile number for
the entire family. |
